About
My two brothers, sister and I were raised in Sydney’s south by my parents Laurie and Raima. We all attended the local state schools and played in local sporting teams.
It was my parents love, support and belief in working hard that has instilled in me the values I have today.
My wife Vicki and I are proud to be raising our children in Illawong and we are working hard to give them the love and support they need so they have a bright future ahead of them.
As your Federal Member I will work to ensure I represent the people of Hughes to the best of my ability. I will fight for our community, and stand up for families & small business to ensure that we pass onto our children and grandchildren a nation in better shape and with greater freedoms & opportunities than when we inherited, where they can plan for the future with confidence.
The experience I have gained in a broad range of areas before entering parliament included; working in small business, international trade, being involved with community organisations, having a child with special needs and standing up for consumers against the supermarket giants has helped me to better understand how we can make our area an even better place to live and work for ours and future generations.
Hughes includes the suburbs of Alfords Point, Bangor, Barden Ridge, Chipping Norton, East Hills, Engadine, Hammondville, Holsworthy, Illawong, Loftus, Menai, Milperra, Moorebank, Panania, Picnic Point, Pleasure Point, Revesby, Revesby Heights, Sandy Point, Voyager Point, Warwick Farm, Wattle Grove, Woronora, Woronora Heights, Yarrawarrah and parts of Jannali, Liverpool and Sutherland.

Craig is fighting for:
- Since becoming our local Federal MP in August 2010, Craig has taken real action to ensure the needs of our community are heard and action is being taken.
- Urgent upgrading of our roads – The safety of those we love and care for as well as strengthening our local economy are dependent on safer roads and highways. That is why I am working hard to secure funding of $7 million to make Heathcote Road safer. I am also working hard to secure $20 million for an alignment and feasibility for the construction of the F6 extension tunnel to take cars off local roads and to reduce road congestion.
- Protecting our environment – Looking after our local environment and waterways is extremely important which is why I am working hard to ensure our area can get projects and funding that will help clean up and protect the Georges and Woronora Rivers.
- Making our communities safer – People want to feel safe as they move throughout our community, which is why I will continue to fight for funding for CCTV cameras so people who use railway stations such as Holsworthy, Sutherland and Warwick Farm feel safe. I am also fighting for funding for CCTV cameras for the Liverpool CBD and other trouble spots in an effort to help police crack down on anti-social behaviour.
